In due course, Fernando Abreu, diplomat of Itamaraty, emphasized the qualities of the people and government of Kuwait. “The resilience of the Kuwaiti people has preserved the advances against the challeges found over the centuries. Since independence, it has become a mediator of various conflicts in the region, such as a recent crisis in the Gulf, which began in 2017. Kuwait Vision Plan 2035, which provides for future investments and structural political for nation, and which counts on the full support of Brazil”, underlined the diplomat.

Diplomacy
Brazil has had diplomatic relations, political and business with Kuwait since 1968. In 1975, the countries already had embassies in their territories. According to Abreu, there have been many visits and average annual exchange of more than US $ 1 billion since 2012.
Strategically well positioned and gifted by nature with one of the largest oil fields, the arab country has the USA as allied. Located on the top of the Gulf, surrounded by neighbors like Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq, Kuwait stands out from other Gulf monarchies for being the most open, relative to the political system.
Kuwait
In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, until a decade of 1990, the economy of Kuwait was based on pearl extraction, one of the most abundant trades in the world. For the activity, about 700 boats were built by 1,500 men, involved with diving for jewelry extraction. Out of the pearl season, merchants used to board for long-distance trading.
The result of this practice was the growing economy of the local naval industry. However, the fishing activity was the less exploited in the region. With this, the people were divided between a class of very wealthy merchants and a population, which did not belong to the royal families, very poor.
In Kuwait everything is of great proportions. Close to experience an impending collapse, only in 1983 oil was discovered and since from oil export in the post-war the local economy trought to has had one of the most highest per capita income in the world. Evaluated at 96 billion barrels, the country’s oil reserves represent about 10% of the world. Climatic conditions are not allow the development of agriculture and exception the fish, the country imports everything that eats. And even water for consumption is imported.
